Dinner Rolls

This recipe is adapted from the food blog “Oh She Glows”.

Ingredients

  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (about 1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2¼ cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon egg replacer
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl mix active dry yeast with ¼ cup warm milk. Stir and let dissolve. Add 1 teaspoon honey and stir. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl add 1¼ cups flour, remaining honey, salt and yeast mixture. Mix briefly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together egg replacer and water until frothy.
  4. Add remaining warm milk, softened butter and egg replacer to flour mixture. Stir until smooth.
  5. Slowly stir in remaining 1 cup of flour and mix until smooth.
  6. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Grease a pie pan and set aside. After 30 minutes, uncover the dough and knead with your hands for a few seconds.
  8. Divide dough into 10 balls and place in prepared pie pan.
  9. Preheat oven to 400°.
  10. Cover pie pan with a towel and let sit for another 30 minutes. The rolls will expand and fill the pie pan.
  11. After 30 minutes uncover the rolls, place them in the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden and fluffy. Serve with your favorite holiday meals and enjoy!
